Arctic Loon and Cotton Grass

Enjoy the delicate beauty of billowy cotton grass, reflected in the sparkling blue waters of the arctic – home to this ancient species. Much of the Arctic is wet and boggy – a perfect habitat for arctic loons and for cotton grass. To me, the tufts of arctic ‘cotton’ give a lyrical counterpoint to the striking markings of the loon. ~ Robert Bateman
