Lapis Necklace with Large Oval Pendant

This Lapis Lazuli necklace has 6 large spiral shaped Lapis beads separated by detailed silver beads with smaller round beads at the ends. A large oval Lapis stone with scrolled silver work pendant balances this necklace out.
This necklace measures 17″ in length, pendant measuring 2″ in length.

Lazuli: Prized by the earliest inhabitants of India, Persia, Mesopotania and Egypt, Lapis Lazuli consists of grains of several blue minerals. The flecks visible on it are gold deposits from mines. Lapis was called “the heavenly stone” by early Egyptians because it resembled the color if the sky.
