Arizona Cowboys

“When I moved to Arizona in 1968, I played cowboy. I had seven horses, built corrals and barns and went on trail rides. It was heaven. Riding herd in the middle of nowhere with the cattle stretched for miles . . . there’s not a feeling like it in the world. It is unbelievable, the feeling that comes over you – God and nature rolled into one. I try to remember those feelings when I am painting.”
