Spirit of the Rainmaker

“I’ve seen the rainstorms that soak the plains. That was truly my inspiration for the painting. These storms are a magnificent natural phenomena, which I wanted to capture and communicate. Native Americans did not run for shelter or look upon nature as somthing to be avoided or fought. They accepted changes in the weather and appreciated them for the marvels they were.

“Once I had decided to capture the look of the plains during one of these rainstorms, the rest fell into place. The design was predicated on giving equal strength to the land, the sky and the Indians. I respect, admire and enjoy painting all three, so ‘Spirit of the Rainmaker’ was a pleasure to conceive and paint.”
