This necklace consists of Turquoise and Lapis beads with silver accent beads and an inlaid round brass pendant. It measures approximately 17″ in length. Pendant 1.75″ cir.
Turquoise: Turquoise was found in Persia (Iran) and traded through out Turkey (hence the derivation of the name “Turkish” stone) Turquoise is one of the oldest substances used to make jewelry. The robin’s egg blue or sky blue color of the Persian turquoise mined near the modern city of Neyshabur in Iran has been used as a guiding reference for evaluating turquoise quality. The stone itself can be found in hues of blue, green and a bluish-green.
