Turquoise/Coral Necklace (16-81)

This chunky necklace consists of disc shape Turquoise and Red Coral inlaid in various round brass beads. It measures approximately 19″ in length.

Turquoise: Turquoise was found in Persia (Iran) and traded through out Turkey (hence the derivation of the name “Turkish” stone) Turquoise is one of the oldest substances used to make jewelry. The robin’s egg blue or sky blue color of the Persian turquoise mined near the modern city of Neyshabur in Iran has been used as a guiding reference for evaluating turquoise quality. The stone itself can be found in hues of blue, green and a bluish-green.
