Lapis with Large Oval Pendant (Five Strand)

This is a five strand Lapis Lazuli necklace, with a large oval Lapis stone with scrolled silver work.
This necklace measures approx.17″ in length, pendant measuring 1 3/4″ in length.

Lapis Lazuli: Prized by the earliest inhabitants of India, Persia, Mesopotania and Egypt, Lapis Lazuli consists of grains of several blue minerals. The flecks visible on it are gold deposits from mines. Lapis was called “the heavenly stone” by early Egyptians because it resembled the color if the sky.
